Truphone Launches Truphone Anywhere

Tomorrow, leading voice over wifi mobile VoIP service provider, Truphone will launch Truphone Anywhere as a feature of V4 of their service. The latest version of the Truphone service will allow users to leverage call-through and call-back capabilities enabling them to make calls from their cellular phone even when there is no wifi internet connection. These new service capabilities are very similar to what other mobile VoIP providers, such as Mobivox, offer customers.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the terms call-through and call-back, call-through refers to a process by which a call is first routed to a service providers server (in this case Truphone) and the service provider (Truphone) then passes the call via the Internet to the intended recipient. A call-back service refers to the process by which a service provider suspends a call and then via SMS, sends a message containing both the calling party and called party’s telephone number to a server which then initiates a call back to the callers handset and the called party connecting those calls together in the process. Both of these services take advantage of the toll by-pass capabilities of VoIP, allowing for service providers like Truphone to offer discounted international calling rates.

These new service capabilities will definitely extend Truphone’s reach and expand their perspective user base. Of the mobile VoIP service providers, Truphone has been the most active this year in adding additional service functionality. With mobile VoIP growing in popularity, this (and other moves) are quickly positioning Truphone as the leading mobile VoIP service provider.
