TringMe Announces Mobile VoIP Application For Nokia N Series

tring me

TringMe, a Bangalore based web telephony company that was originally known for offering free calling through it’s flash SIP soft phone, has announced the availability of their Mobile VoIP application for the Nokia N series phones (E51, E60, E61, E61i, E65, E70, E90, N80, N81 (all versions), N82 and N95 (all versions)). TringMe’s Mobile VoIP application supports both WiFi and 3G/2.5G wireless networks.

Although TringMe is not the first telephony company to come out with a Mobile VoIP application, the TringMe Mobile VoIP application is unique in that that calls can be made to and received from the all termination options that TringMe supports which include landline and mobile phones, SIP phones, Instant Messengers (Gtalk), Flash Widgets etc. This gives the user an extended range of flexibility to determine the best options for making and receiving a call from a mobile device.

Another intriguing play that comes with this announcement is the ability for third party developers to leverage the Mobile VoIP application utilizing TringMe’s API. There are literally dozens of niche plays that I can think of that could leverage the Mobile VoIP capabilities of TringMe through the use of their API. It will be interesting to see what comes about as a result of it.
