keeps disconnecting all the time. my relatives hate me now. they know if i’m calling it will be an all day constant re-dial affair.
    often connects one-way.
    minor issues include:
charges connection fees, including when connection wasn’t successful. expect to pay 5 connection fees per successful call. destinations that were supposed to be free ain’t.

when i use gizmo5 i have no problems at all, so i’m sure this isn’t my equipment or configuration.
sometimes it works better sometimes worse.
i usually try it a few times and then have to use gizmo if terrasip is having a bad day again.

Used to have the best prices. but now thoroughly beaten. Pathetic customer services. Hopeless website. When it works its good. Otherwise nothing good left. The only good bit is the call.

Very good SIP out provider. They have two different qualities for calls: ’standard’ and ‘premium’. The ’standard’ service is ridiculously cheap but often has poor quality. The ‘premium’ service is much better: TerraSip claims ‘ISDN quality’, which is not exaggerated. And the premium rates are still very, very low. No recurring costs, no setup fee. Support is email only, but friendly, responsive, and helpful.

A minus on features: my own phone number will never show up on the display at anyone I called. TerraSip does not claim this would always work, but it’s still a pity.

Anyway: I have set my Fritz!Box to connect all my international calls and national (German) mobile calls via TerraSip a few weeks ago. No regrets so far.

Terrasip renewed two DIDs I was planning to phase off without my authorization; they just debited by account. After I complained, they only partially refunded the costs…they wrote “they had to charge me because I did not complain in time” …can you believe it? paying for a service I did not order…I call this stealing……why do I have to pay for their mistakes??? later, they deleted the *wrong* DID, cutting off my service. They stopped answering my emails.

Moreover….Terrasip is target of SIP war dialing.
Expect to get lots of rings from who knows who many times during the day…their security dept. does not know how to stop it.

If you call to cell phones, good luck…you get disconnected or busy tones…but get charged!!!

The faq on their web site is out of date, especially the part where they advise on the pap2 linksys configuration settings. Expect a lot of confusion if you follow the advise from the customer support staff, they will give you bad advises and then offer commercial services to sort out the mess that they have created.

Using it for a year… Standard user, not premium. Quality is often bad. Sometimes can´t connect to landline or mobile phones. Interrupts often. I´ll try to use Gizmo (now using x-lite), but I am not sure if the softphone ist the problem. The service is pathetic. Cannot recommend it. I´ll try to upgrade to premium, because I have some money left on my account.. I hope it will improve..

Let’s start with the good. The prices are cheap; the set-up procedure is reasonable; the call quality is usually quite good. The redirection facilities are useful.

But all this pales into insignificance when set against their horrendous customer service! Like others, I found I was being charged for calls that never connected. I sent a mild complaint to that effect. I received a very rude and unhelpful answer. A month later the same thing was happening, so I sent another mild rebuke.

Another tirade from the so-called customer service desk. “It not fair you treat us like this (sic)”!! All I did was to complain at being charged for non-connected calls. So I said I wanted the complaint escalated, and that I was tempted to cancel my contract.

They cut off my line within 10 minutes! Gone. Finished. No explanation. No notice. No refund.

This is surely against their contractual obligations, but what can one do? Where are they? How can you sue them?

So, my strong advice must be DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY! They will take your money and leave you with no support. This is a great shame, as the product is actually quite good.

Very bad services for terrasip. Not existing support, no CLI delivered, billing on minutes, tax, web billing is an oscommerce gpl free. I am working with www.aplicacionesweb.net from canary island with 0% tax free.

I began using this service after a long research. The prices are very low especially for mobile phone calls. Also they allow payment via paypal (which I prefer for security reasons).

I only use the premium option, since the normal calls are too low quality for me. I have used the service connecting via PC and phone via WiFi and often even gprs.

Quality varies greatly and depends on called country, time and luck. Very often the first try fails and the first minute is billed, which is disappointing of course.
It happens often that calls are routed wrongly, so that you are connected to the wrong phone or the phone you call receives a call from someone else, which can be a bit annoying.

The interface on the website is not very user friendly.

All that said I’m still using the service for private calls and find it acceptable for the price, once you are connected and it works, you can speak for a full hour for very low fees. Doing this to a mobile phone abroad with any other service is way more expensive.
At the moment I use skype if I need more quality.
