MOBIVOX Gets a New CEO

MOBIVOX announced today that Peter Diedrich has been brought on as CEO, replacing founding CEO Stephan Marceau. It is typically not a good thing when a founding CEO leaves a company (it usually means an investor force out or the company is going under), however Diedrich has more than 20 years of operations experience in technology and telecommunications, management consulting and venture capital with his last stint being at TBayTel, where he interestingly enough lead turnarounds in financial and operational performance.

If I had to guess, I would say that it is Mr. Diedrich’s proven ability to turnaround a telecommunications company’s financial and operations that won him his new post. While I have not heard any rumors, MOBIVOX’s recent ending of free MOBIVOX to MOBIVOX calling is a sign that the company may be struggling to grow revenues (or even hit profitability). It will be interesting to see the extent of Mr. Diedrich’s impact on MOBIVOX and their future offerings.
